School grounds
School grounds, if managed in a sensitive way, can support a variety of wildlife. By creating a wildlife area you can increase the diversity of habitats within the school grounds, attracting a wider range of species.
Download our Wildlife Gardening Pack at the bottom of the page for information on creating a school wildlife garden.
Resources for teachers
Visit our Children’s Activities page to download free resources for schools. There are lots of excellent resources available on the internet for teaching children about biodiversity and nature conservation.
Here are some of our favourites: Woodland Trust Nature Detectives, Butterfly Conservation Trust, RSBP, Wildlife Watch, Marine Conservation Society and the Forest Education Initiative.
Our biodiversity officer is available to give talks at schools. Please contact us for more information.
Loggerheads Country Park near Mold is a great place for a school visit for children of all ages. Contact the Clwydian Range Centre on 01352 810586 for more information.
