Hiraethog Trail

The Hiraethog region is a stunning and unspoilt landscape of rolling heather moor, deep forest and quiet lakes in the heart of North Wales. Easily accessed from the A5 at the gateway to Snowdonia, this is a place of open space and open sky - a place to relax, or to get energised.

The Hiraethog Trial is an interesting and scenic trail linking the little villages of Pentrefoelas, Cerrigydrudion, Llanfihangel Glyn Myfr and Llanrhaeadr via public footpaths and quiet lanes across some of Denbighshire and Conwy’s most beautiful and remote countryside.

The Trail offers an unspoilt experience of the Welsh countryside, its language and village life whilst the forests, moorlands and rivers are home to an abundance of wildlife, thriving in this remote area.

The route is a great weekend break for more experienced walkers with an opportunity to follow shorter circular walks for those looking for a less challenging adventure.

The Trail, is accompanied by an illustrated guide, available from Tourist Information Centres, with maps and information about accommodation and bus services.
