Corwen Community Photography Competition

Date: 05.11.2012

A photographic competition is being run by the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the Corwen Area. The aim is to get children and adults out this autumn to capture images reflecting the character and beauty of their local area.  Each week, starting on 26th October, 2 topics will be posted onto our websites ( www.clwydianrangeanddeevalleyaonb.org.uk and www.denbighshirecountryside.org.uk) and communicated to schools in the area. At the end of each week, the best images will be chosen and displayed on a gallery on the websites. The competition will run for 6 weeks, and the best photos will be turned into postcards.

Local Councillor, Huw Jones says “we live in a stunning landscape, which has been recognised with its designation as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  It would be fantastic if people could capture what is special to them about this area and share it with others.”

The event is being organised the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley AONB team, and is part of a project, funded by a Community Engagement Award from Countryside Council for Wales, to get people more involved with their local environment.

To enter the competition, people will need to register with Flickr and download their photos onto the Corwen Community Photo Competition, which is at http://www.flickr.com/groups/corwen-aonb-photo-comp/
