Wales biodiversity week 9th - 17th of June

Wales Biodiversity Week, from the 9th to the 17th of June, is an annual week of wildlife-themed events that takes place all over Wales. All our events are designed to raise awareness, enthusiasm and inspiration among the public of the importance of biodiversity. We have some wonderful wildlife in Denbighshire, from our toads to our terns, and our bats to our barn owls.

To celebrate, Denbighshire Countryside Service is hosting a variety of family friendly events. Go Wild at Plas Newydd, Llangollen on the 9th, from 11:30am to 3:30pm. Don’t miss the Biodiversity Train Ride on the 12th, leaving Llangollen train station at 6:30pm and coming back at 10pm. On the 17th, explore the heather and hillforts of Moel Arthur, leaving from Moel Arthur car park at 10:30am for a 4 mile circular walk, or the same day, make bird boxes, bug homes and toad abodes at Loggerheads Country Park, from 11am until 3pm! Come and celebrate our amazing Welsh wildlife!
